Manufacturing ScholarshipsEarn Good Money in Manufacturing After Graduation Students, pursuing an education in engineering, study large amounts of science and mathematics. Students studying the manufacturing specialty learn about modern manufacturing environments, including technology and production processes associated with all aspects of manufacturing. A Manufacturing Engineer’s job includes design, analysis and implementation of innovative systems and processes that improve the production of materials and goods. Professionals are asked to consider manufacturing from a wide perspective – including financial, technical, and labor related aspects of operation. Financial aid for engineers comes from a variety of places, such as, industry associations, private philanthropists, and from individual campus programs. Technical Societies and Organizations • Caterpillar Scholars Awards are offered to high school seniors enrolling in manufacturing engineering majors at four-year colleges. Preference for winning the awards is given to minority students with proven academic talent. High school students who are members of the Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS), and involved in manufacturing engineering activities, have access to industry-related activities and are eligible for scholarships. The Next Generation Scholarship Fund is for graduating high school students with superior academic abilities, especially those showing interest in engineering. |

Wayne State University offers scholarships through the department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. Qualified applicants submit essays overviewing their career goals and aspirations, as well as letters of recommendation from faculty members. It is also recommended that students applying for scholarships have a professional resume. Individual interviews may be done on the finalists for the scholarships. At the University of Wisconsin-Stout, qualified applicants compete for a dozen scholarships annually, sponsored by the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Minority Scholarships The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) awards over 100 scholarships annually, to deserving female students pursuing degrees in accredited engineering programs. Successful applicants are undergraduate and graduate students. The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) offers dozens of scholarships funded by generous corporate sponsors like ExxonMobil, Delta Airlines and Northrop Grumman. In most cases, applicants must demonstrate above-average academic talents in the major. The American Indian Science and Engineering Society sponsors scholarships for students majoring in engineering specialties, including manufacturing engineering. Successful applicants must be willing to submit a Certificate of Indian Blood, along with other specified materials.
